Dorp love playing the North and it's clear to us that this band have been making waves within both the Alternative and mainstream markets over the last few months, and as they return to Scarborough the atmosphere is buzzing.
While the follow-up remix EP for XP8's The Art of Revenge will not be released, XP8 have announced that their fourth studio album, entitled Drop the Mask, is in its final stages and planned for release in June 2009.
A special edit of the album track "I See Her" will be included on the second volume of the Kinetik Festival compilation album, as the band will perform at the festival in May 2009.
Some of the finished remixes which were planned for the cancelled EP will now be released on compilations in the coming year, including reworkings of "Our Time" (Soman), "The Art of Revenge" (SAM), and I.C.E. (Uberbyte).

Recently we had the chance to have a quick chat with one half of the Bunker 13 crew based at club Raw in Whitby. We spoke with DJ Amanda Lee about the night, how it started and its future. We also spoke a little bit about the state of the Northern Goth and dark music scene in the UK.
“It’s really important that people support their scene”
This debut is a thoughtful, enchanting and innovative look at a new world through a young boy’s eyes. The protagonist Donovan and his stuffed rabbit Toby are wonderfully painted and will certainly captivate the hearts and minds of children and young adults alike. The friends’ challenging journey through ‘The Quiet Forest’ is particularly evocative and the descriptive writing on offer is coupled with creative illustrations that will work in tandem throughout to evoke an array of emotions. With ‘The Wizard of Odd’ Soda manages to inspire a sense of wonder, danger and excitement that will leap from off the page.
Recently we had the opportunity to chat to Shreena Soomarah of This One Is On Us and Executive Producer of the Nine Inch Nails live documentary 'Another Version Of The Truth: The Gift', about the creative process and the events that led up to its release. The free film, which includes 405GB of raw high-definition footage (shot by the band's Creative Director Rob Sheridan and his dedicated team) from Nine Inch Nails' 2008 'Lights In The Sky' tour took many months to complete and edit together. To follow-up, TOIOU organised for the last show of the tour (in Las Vegas) to be shot completely by NIN fans and this is currently in production. 'Another Version Of The Truth' brings Nine Inch Nails' supporters and those on the inside together like never before.
"This project was born out of community spirit and love for the band"
